WWE Raw Results (6/28/2021): Triple Threat Last Chance Match

Tonight on Raw we will see AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre compete in a Triple Threat Match and the winner gets a slot in this year’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Tonight’s Raw kicks off with the announcement that Randy Orton would not be competing in tonight’s Last Chance Match so instead there will be a Battle Royale and the winner gets Orton’s spot in the match. Orton’s RK-Bro partner Riddle wants in on the Battle Royale in hopes to make up for his snafu last week. After pulling the official’s arm they grant Riddle entry into the Battle Royale on Orton’s behalf.

Thanks to Omos, none of the Viking Raiders will be getting a chance at Money in the Bank. Tozawa may be the only man in wrestling history to lose then regain a Championship during a completely separate match. The final four came down to Damien Priest, Jeff Hardy, Cedric Alexander, and Riddle. Alexander counters a Twist of Fate from Hardy to send him over the top rope. Alexander is the eliminated by Damien Priest after hitting Hit the Lights finisher. It comes down to Priest and Riddle, both of whom are good friends. As both men battle on the apron Riddle gets enough space to hit Priest with a knee strike sending him crashing to the floor. Later on tonight Riddle will be facing AJ Styles and Drew McIntyre in a Triple Threat to earn the final spot for Money in the Bank. Later on, Omos would go on to say his involvement earlier was just him scouting the competition.

Nikki Cross def. Shayna Baszler via cradle pin. Alexa Bliss came down to the ring to play more mind games with Reginald and Nia Jax.

MVP and Kofi Kingston had a verbal confrontation to hype up the Championship match between Kofi and Bobby Lashley at Money in the Bank. MVP tried pulling a fast one and attacking Kofi but he ended up getting a Trouble in Paradise to the face.

Eva Marie chalks up the miscommunication between her and Doudrop to a rookie mistake and there’s a rematch from last week, Eva Marie and Doudrop vs. Asuka and Naomi.

Doudrop and Eva Marie def. Asuka and Naomi: Eva Marie tried doing what Doudrop did to her last week and leave her hide and dry but this time the results would be different. The bigger and more powerful Doudrop would flatten Asuka with a basement crossbody to pick up the win. Naturally, Eva Marie takes credit for the win.

John Morrison and Ricochet ended in a double count-out thanks to Ricochet doing one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen. Morrison was on the outside straddling the barricade when Ricochet springboards himself and hits Morrison with a crossbody sending them both crashing behind the barricade.

Charlotte Flair, Tamina, and Natalya def. Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, and Rhea Ripley: Mandy doesn’t see the blind tag and catches a boot from Charlotte for the three count.

Jaxson Ryker def. Elias in a Strap Match. Both men whipped each other a good amount, just not enough to make me care about Jaxson Ryker.

The Last Chance Triple Threat Qualifying Match was highly enjoyable. Styles and Riddle did the smart thing and disposed of McIntyre by sending him through the commentary table. Lots of battling on the outside which saw Riddle possibly break his foot running into the steel steps. The impact was so bad that medical staff had to come help him to the back. Minutes later Riddle emerges from the back with a taped foot and back to work. Riddle almost has AJ Styles pinned until AJ is yanked out of the ring by Omos. This leaves Riddle to get hit with a Claymore from Drew who gets the three. Drew McIntyre qualifies for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

I would imagine that should Drew win this year’s Money in the Bank match he would have to cash in the contract on someone not named Bobby Lashley. I think. Right? Well, what did you all think of Raw tonight? Drop a comment below!
